HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: COMPRESSOR: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

(a) w/ Air Suspension:

NOTICE:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Suspension Control System.

(b) w/ Navigation System for HDD:

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Service and Repair

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH Removal

7. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT Removal

8. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

10. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER Removal

11. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

12. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

13. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

14. REMOVE HOOD CENTER CUSHION Removal

15. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) Removal

17. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY Removal

18. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER Removal

19. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

20. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY Removal

21. REMOVE SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR (w/ Smog Ventilation Sensor) Removal

22. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

23. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

24. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

25. REMOVE BATTERY Removal

26. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

27. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY Removal

28. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY Removal

29. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE Removal

30. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE Removal

31. DISCONNECT INLET OIL COOLER HOSE Removal

32. DISCONNECT OUTLET OIL COOLER HOSE Removal

33. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT Removal

34. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY Removal

35. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY AND FAN ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR

HINT
Refer to the procedure for Remove No. 2 Radiator Assembly Removal.

36. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the compressor and magnetic clutch.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

37. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction hose sub-assembly from the compressor and magnetic clutch.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the suction hose sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

38. REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH

(a) Disengage each clamp.

(b) Disconnect each connector.

(c) for Standard Bolt:

(1) Remove the 4 bolts, bracket and the compressor and magnetic clutch.

(1) Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and bracket.
