BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.

1. REMOVE PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

3. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Removal

5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

6. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

7. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal

8. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

10. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal

11. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

(a) Remove the spiral cable with steering angle sensor Removal.

NOTICE:
* Do not replace the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
* Do not rotate the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).
* Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering angle sensor.
* Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.
