U660E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Air Suspension)

NOTICE:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Air Suspension System.

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, clip and front fender apron sub-assembly LH.

4. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID

(a) Remove the refill plug and gasket from the automatic transaxle.

(b) Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the automatic transaxle.

(d) Drain automatic transaxle fluid from the automatic transaxle.

(e) Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the automatic transaxle.

Torque : 1.7 Nm (17 kgf-cm, 15 in-lbf)

(f) Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install a new gasket and the overflow plug to the automatic transaxle.

Torque : 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)

(g) Temporarily install the gasket and the refill plug to the automatic transaxle.

5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT Removal

6. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

7. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR Removal

8. SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY Removal

9. SEPARATE NO. 1 FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM Removal

10. SEPARATE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH Removal

12. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH Removal

13. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, tap out the transaxle case oil seal.

SST : 09308-00010

14. REMOVE FRONT TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, tap out the front transaxle case oil seal.

SST : 09308-00010

15. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new transaxle case oil seal.

Oil seal driven in depth:

-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

NOTICE:
Check that the oil seal is installed in the correct direction.

(b) Coat the lip of the transaxle case oil seal with MP grease.

16. INSTALL FRONT TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new front transaxle case oil seal.

Oil seal driven in depth:

-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

NOTICE:
Check that the oil seal is installed in the correct direction.

(b) Coat the lip of the front transaxle case oil seal with MP grease.

17. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH Installation

18. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH Installation

19. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM Installation

20. INSTALL TIE ROD ASSEMBLY Installation

21. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR Installation

22. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY Installation

23. INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT Installation

24. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS

25. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID

26. INSPECT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID LEAK

27. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the front fender apron sub-assembly LH with the 2 bolts and clip.

28. ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
