WINDOW / GLASS: QUARTER WINDOW GLASS: REMOVAL

HINT
* The quarter window assembly can be reused. If any clip of the quarter window assembly is broken, use butyl tape to support the glass until the applied adhesive hardens when reinstalling the quarter window assembly.
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) Removal

4. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for LH Side) Removal

5. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) Removal

6. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) Removal

7. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) Removal

8. REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) Removal

9. REMOVE REAR SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for RH Side) Removal

10. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) Removal

11. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) Removal

12. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY (for Compact Spare Tire) Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 4 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Compact Spare Tire) Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 4 REAR FLOOR BOARD (for Full Size Spare Tire) Removal

16. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX Removal

18. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX (for Compact Spare Tire) Removal

25. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (for LH Side) Removal

26. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) Removal

27. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL BEZEL Removal

28. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) Removal

29. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY Removal

30. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (for RH Side) Removal

31. REMOVE HEIGHT CONTROL SWITCH (for RH Side)

(a) w/ Air Suspension:

(1) Remove the height control switch Removal.

32. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) Removal

33. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY Removal

34. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY

(a) Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

(b) Place matchmarks on the quarter window assembly and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.

HINT
Matchmarks are not necessary if the quarter window assembly is not going to be reused.

(c) Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass as shown in the illustration.

(d) Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects that can serve as handles.

NOTICE:
When separating the quarter window assembly from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the paint or interior and exterior ornaments.

(e) Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window assembly.

NOTICE:
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when cutting through the adhesive.

(f) Using suction cups disengage the 3 clips and remove the glass.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to drop the glass.

35. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

(a) Clean and shape the contact surfaces of the vehicle body.

(1) Using a knife, cut away excess adhesive on the contact surfaces of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

HINT
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

(b) Clean the contact surfaces of the vehicle body with a piece of cloth saturated with cleaner.

HINT
Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
