U660E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL
NOTICE:
If automatic transmission parts are replaced, refer to Parts Replacement Compensation Table to determine if any additional operations are necessary U660E Automatic Transaxle System.
1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

2. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE RADIATOR PIPE CLAMP Removal
4. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY Removal
5. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY Removal
6. REMOVE TCM Removal
7. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 wire harnesses.
(b) Separate the 2 connector and 6 wire harness clamps.
8. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 11 bolts and transaxle.
NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the transaxle and engine.
9. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, nut and front engine mounting bracket.
(b) Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolt.

10. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
(a) Remove the 5 bolts and 5 clamp brackets.
11. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 transmission control cable bracket from the automatic transaxle assembly.
12. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVEN HOLE (ATM) COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt and speedometer driven hole (ATM) cover sub-assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
(b) Remove the O-ring from the speedometer driven hole (ATM) cover sub-assembly.
13. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the torque converter clutch assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
14. INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY U660E Automatic Transaxle
