SUSPENSION CONTROL: ACTIVE STABILIZER SUSPENSION SYSTEM: C190C,C190D: Rear Metal Board Overheat

DESCRIPTION

If overheating of the rear active stabilizer control ECU's metal board or control board is detected, control is stopped to prevent abnormal overheating, and DTC C190C and/or C190D are output. The metal board and control board have temperature sensors for detecting overheating. If the temperature returns to normal, the system returns to normal operation.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY

(a) Turn the power switch off and wait 30 minutes or more.

(b) Check if "CHECK ACTIVE STABILIZER SUSPENSION SYSTEM" is still displayed on the multi-information display.

HINT
30 minutes is the approximate amount of time that is required for the rear active stabilizer control ECU to cool down sufficiently.

Result

B -- INTERCHANGE FRONT AND REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT SURROUNDING CONDITIONS (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE)

(a) Check the temperature around the rear active stabilizer control ECU.

OK:

No factors causing high temperatures

HINT
If there are factors causing a high temperature in the rear active stabilizer control ECU, eliminate those factors, wait for the ECU to cool down, and recheck for the DTC Active Stabilizer Suspension System.

NG -- REPAIR MALFUNCTIONING AREA
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INTERCHANGE FRONT AND REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Interchange the rear active stabilizer control ECU with the front active stabilizer control ECU, and install them securely Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CLEAR DTC

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the power switch on (IG) and the Techstream on.

(d) Clear the DTCs Active Stabilizer Suspension System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK OPERATION OF REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the power switch on (READY) and wait 30 seconds or more. Then check for front active stabilizer DTCs Active Stabilizer Suspension System.

OK:

DTC C1934 and/or C1935 are not output.

HINT
Interchange the front and rear active stabilizer control ECUs and check for DTCs. After interchanging the ECUs, if a front active stabilizer DTC is stored, it can be determined that the rear active stabilizer control ECU is malfunctioning.

NG -- REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- RETURNS TO NORMAL OPERATION (SYSTEM RETURNS TO NORMAL DUE TO RETURN OF METAL BOARD OR CONTROL BOARD TO NORMAL TEMPERATURE)
