SUSPENSION CONTROL: ACTIVE STABILIZER SUSPENSION SYSTEM: C1914: DC / DC Converter Overload
C1914 - DC / DC Converter Overload

DESCRIPTION

If the rear active stabilizer control ECU receives an overheat signal from the power steering converter, control is stopped to protect the power steering converter from overheating, and DTC C1914 is output. The power steering converter sends its condition information from terminal WDD1 to the power steering ECU, and from terminal WDD3 to the rear active stabilizer control ECU. The power steering converter supplies power to the front active stabilizer control actuator assembly, rear active stabilizer control actuator assembly and power steering system. As a result, extensive steering, such as rotating the steering wheel from lock to lock for dozens of times with the vehicle stationary, may be causing the power steering converter to overheat. If the temperature returns to normal, the system returns to normal operation.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DC/DC CONVERTER WDD3 OUTPUT)

(a) In order for the converter to cool down, turn the power switch off and wait 30 minutes or more.

HINT
While waiting, check if there are factors that may be causing high temperatures around the power steering converter, and take measures to eliminate those factors.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the power switch on (READY) and the Techstream on.

(d) Follow the Techstream screen display and display the rear active stabilizer Data List screen. Select the "DC/DC Status" item and check the output condition of terminal WDD3 Active Stabilizer Suspension System.

Result

B -- RETURNS TO NORMAL OPERATION (SYSTEM RETURNS TO NORMAL DUE TO RETURN OF POWER STEERING CONVERTER TO NORMAL TEMPERATURE)
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INTERCHANGE FRONT AND REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Interchange the rear active stabilizer control ECU with the front active stabilizer control ECU, and install them securely Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CLEAR DTC

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the power switch on (IG) and the Techstream on.

(d) Clear the DTC Active Stabilizer Suspension System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the power switch on (READY) and wait 30 seconds or more. Then check for front active stabilizer DTCs Active Stabilizer Suspension System.

OK:

DTC C1914 is not output

NG -- REPLACE POWER STEERING CONVERTER ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY Removal
