2GR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: SFI SYSTEM: P0657: Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit / Open
P0657 - Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit / Open

DESCRIPTION

The ECM monitors the output voltage to the throttle actuator. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. The output voltage is usually 0 V when the power switch is turned off. If the output voltage is 7 V or more when the power switch is turned off, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and set a DTC when the power switch is turned on (IG).

MONITOR STRATEGY

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS

TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

- Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.

- Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure) DTC Check / Clear.

- Turn the power switch off.

- Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on [A].

- Wait 5 seconds or more.

- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.

- Input the DTC: P0657.

- Check the DTC judgment result [B].

HINT
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.

- If the test result is UNKNOWN, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes / Pending.

- Read Pending DTCs.

HINT
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.

- If the test result is INCOMPLETE or UNKNOWN and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

HINT
- If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
