HYBRID / BATTERY CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P0A32-666,P0A33-665: Drive Motor "B" Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
P0A33-665 - Drive Motor "B" Temperature Sensor Circuit High

DESCRIPTION

The resistance of the thermistor built into the rear motor temperature sensor changes in accordance with changes in MGR temperature. The lower the MGR temperature, the higher the thermistor resistance. Conversely, the higher the temperature, the lower the resistance.

HINT
The term "drive motor B" indicates MGR.

HINT
After confirming that DTC P0A32-666 or P0A33-665 is output, use the Techstream to check "Rear Motor Temp" in the power management control ECU Data List.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) P0340

NG -- CONNECT SECURELY
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR MOTOR TEMP)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Rear Motor Temp.

(d) Read the Data List.

Result:

(e) Turn the power switch off.

C -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS Check For Intermittent Problems

B -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CHECK FOR SHORT)
A -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CHECK FOR OPEN)

(a) Disconnect the rear motor temperature sensor connector.

(b) Connect terminals 1 (RMT) and 3 (RMTG) of the vehicle side connector of the rear motor temperature sensor.

(c) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(d) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Rear Motor Temp.

(f) Read the Data List.

OK:
