SEAT: FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Memory): Wireless Transmitter Memory Function does not Operate
- Wireless Transmitter Memory Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

With the power switch off and the driver door closed, press the manual lock or unlock switch while holding a seat memory switch (M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch). Doing so will register the transmitter recognition code into the seat memory switch that was pressed. After the registration is completed, the answer-back buzzer sounds.

NOTICE:
* The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
* If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

CAN communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM CAN Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the LIN communication system is functioning normally How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

LIN communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM LIN Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL FUNCTION

(a) Using the standard operation procedure, check that the power door lock/unlock function operates normally Operation Check.

OK:

Power door lock/unlock function operates normally.

NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (ENTRY UNLOCK FUNCTION)

(a) Check the entry unlock function of smart access system with push-button start Operation Check.

OK:

Entry unlock function is normally.

NG -- GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START Problem Symptoms Table
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK SEAT MEMORY FUNCTION

(a) Perform a seat memory operation properly Operation Check.

(b) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds to indicate the completion of the memory operation.

NOTICE:
* The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
* If a memorizing operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory function does not operate unless the switches are released.

OK:

Seat position memory function operates normally.

NG -- GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Power Seat Position is not Memorized)
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK SEAT RESTORING FUNCTION (SEAT POSITION RESTORING FUNCTION)

(a) Perform a seat restoring operation properly Operation Check.

(b) Check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seat automatically moves to the memorized position.

NOTICE:
* The seat position will not return to the memorized position if the 2 or more of the seat memory switches (for example, M1 switch and M2 switch) are pressed simultaneously.
* If a restoring operation has failed, release all switches. The seat memory restoring function does not operate unless the switches are released.

OK:

Seat position restoring function operates normally.

NG -- GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Power Seat does not Return to Memorized Position)
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Main Body





OK:

ON or OFF appears on the screen.

NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM (Door Courtesy Light Circuit)
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION

(a) While pressing M1 switch, M2 switch or M3 switch , press the manual lock or unlock switch.

(b) Check that the buzzer sounds normally Operation Check.

OK:

Buzzer sounds normally.

NG -- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION CANCELLATION)

(a) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(b) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

(c) Cancel the memory call registration.

Main Body





OK:

On the tester display, it is confirmed that the memory call has been cleared.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

10. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION)

(a) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(b) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

(c) Register the memory call.

Main Body





OK:

On the tester display, it is confirmed that the memory call has been registered

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.

11. CHECK MEMORY CALL FUNCTION (SEAT MEMORY CALL)

(a) With a recognition code stored in memory, open the driver door by performing an entry unlock operation or by pressing the transmitter unlock switch. Check that the driver side power seat moves to the memorized position Operation Check.

OK:

Driver side power seat moves to the memorized position.

NG -- GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (Wireless-linked Return Function does not Operate)

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

12. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Data List.

(b) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

Driver Seat





OK:

Buzzer sounds normally.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

13. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

(a) Replace the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

14. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MEMORY CALL REGISTRATION)

(a) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

(b) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

(c) Register the memory call.

On the tester display, it is confirmed that the memory call has been registered.

NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal
