2GR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: ECM: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX Removal

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER Removal

6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

7. REMOVE ECM

(a) Separate the 2 wire harness clamps.





(b) Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors and remove the ECM with brackets.

(1) Push in the locks on the 2 levers, raise the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.





NOTICE:
After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting part of the connectors.

(2) Remove the bolt and separate the cooler pipe.





(3) Remove the 3 bolts and the ECM with bracket.





NOTICE:
Do not deform the cooler pipe when moving it to access the bolts below.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and the wire harness bracket.





(d) Remove the 4 bolts, and remove the No. 1 ECM bracket and No. 2 ECM bracket.





(e) Unlock the 3 claws, and remove the engine room ECM cover and ECM.
