STEERING COLUMN: TILT AND TELESCOPIC MANUAL SWITCH: REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Service Precautions.
1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)
NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Steering System.
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Removal
4. REMOVE STEERING PAD

Refer to the instructions for Removal of the steering pad Removal.
5. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
NOTICE:
Removing the lower steering column cover in the incorrect order will cause the parts to break.
(a) Disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides to separate the instrument panel cluster finish panel from the steering column cover (upper side).

(b) Remove the 3 screws.
(c) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the steering column cover (lower side).
NOTICE:
Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.
8. REMOVE TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Disengage the claw and pull out the tilt and telescopic switch.
NOTICE:
Pushing on the claw too hard will break the claw.
