B2425 - Headlight Leveling Motor RH Communication Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling motor operates by receiving the signal from the headlight swivel ECU. The headlight swivel ECU detects the headlight leveling motor status using the signal from the headlight leveling motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2424 or B2425 output does not occur.

NG -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU)

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU)

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List Data List / Active Test.

OK:

Power supply voltage is 11 to 14 V.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BATTERY - HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the A46 headlight swivel ECU connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT UNIT)

(a) Disconnect the A46 headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the A49*1 or A50*2 headlight connector.

*1: for LH

*2: for RH

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

for LH
for RH










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT HEADLIGHT UNIT

(a) Remove the headlight unit Disassembly.

(b) Disconnect the headlight leveling motor connector.





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

for LH
for RH

6. CHECK HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the headlight leveling motor with a new or normally functioning one Disassembly.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2424 or B2425 output does not occur.
