DESCRIPTION

* When the theft deterrent system is in the disarmed state, the security indicator light flashes continuously when the engine immobiliser system is set, and does not illuminate when the engine immobiliser system is not set.

When the theft deterrent system is in the armed state, the engine immobiliser system is automatically set and the security indicator light flashes continuously.

When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state or alarm sounding state, the main body ECU causes the security indicator light to be illuminated.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select Active Test Theft Deterrent System.

Security indicator light can be turned on and off using the Techstream.

A -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Theft Deterrent System

2. INSPECT DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Remove the display and navigation module display Removal.





(b) Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the display and navigation module display and check that the security indicator light illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the H4 and H8 display connectors.

(b) Remove the main body ECU Removal.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

4. INSPECT HEATER CONTROL SWITCH BOARD (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Remove the heater control switch board Disassembly.





(b) Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the heater control switch board and check that the security indicator light illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE HEATER CONTROL SWITCH BOARD Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEATER CONTROL SWITCH BOARD - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the H32 board connector.

(b) Remove the main body ECU Removal.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
