SEAT: REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM: OPERATION CHECK

1. CHECK REAR POWER SEAT FUNCTION

(a) Check the basic operation.

(1) Operate the rear power seat switch and fold seat switch assembly and check that each switch function works.

* Reclining

* Luggage Room Expansion

* Stowage

* Return

2. CHECK RECLINING OPERATION

(a) Operation conditions:

* Initialization is completed.

* The seatback is within the reclining operation range.

(b) Press the rear power seat switch and confirm that the seatback moves forward and backward.

(c) While the reclining operation is being performed, check that the reclining operation stops when: 1) the rear power seat switch is released; 2) another switch (the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly or No. 2 fold seat switch assembly) is pressed while the rear power seat switch is being pressed; or 3) the seatback reaches either end of the reclining operation range (the upright position or fully reclined position).

(d) While the reclining operation is being performed, check that the reclining operation stops when it is determined that the seatback is pinching a foreign object.

3. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM EXPANSION OPERATION

(a) Operation conditions:

* Initialization is completed.

* The engine switch is off, or the engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is in P.

* The seatback is within the luggage room expansion operation range.

(b) Check that a buzzer sounds twice, the seatback moves to the upright position, and then the buzzer sounds twice again when the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly or No. 2 fold seat switch assembly is held in the stowage position.

(c) While the luggage room expansion operation is being performed, check that the luggage room expansion operation stops when: 1) the fold seat switch assembly is released; 2) another switch (the return part of the other fold seat switch assembly or a rear power seat switch) is pressed while the fold seat switch assembly is being pressed; or 3) any of the operation conditions are no longer met.

(d) While the luggage room expansion operation is being performed, check that the luggage room expansion operation stops when it is determined that the seatback is pinching a foreign object.

4. CHECK STOWAGE OPERATION

(a) Operation conditions:

* Initialization is completed.

* The engine switch is off, or the engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is in P.

(b) Check that a buzzer sounds twice, the seatback moves to the upright position, and then the buzzer sounds twice again when the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly or No. 2 fold seat switch assembly is held in the stowage position. Then, release the fold seat switch assembly once, hold it in the stowage position again and check that the seatback and seat cushion move to their stowage positions and a buzzer sounds twice after the stowage operation is completed.

(c) While the stowage operation is being performed, check that the stowage operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously when: 1) the fold seat switch assembly is released; 2) another switch (the return part of the other fold seat switch assembly or a rear power seat switch) is pressed while the fold seat switch assembly is being pressed; or 3) any of the operation conditions are no longer met.

The buzzer stops sounding when a normal operation is started.

(d) While the stowage operation is being performed, check that the stowage operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously when it is determined that the seatback or seat cushion is pinching a foreign object.

5. CHECK RETURN OPERATION

(a) Operation conditions:

* Initialization is completed.

* The engine switch is off, or the engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is in P.

(b) Check that a buzzer sounds twice, the seatback and seat cushion move to their seating positions, and then the buzzer sounds twice again after the return operation is completed when the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly or No. 2 fold seat switch assembly is held in the return position.

Return the headrest by hand.

(c) While the return operation is being performed, check that the return operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously when: 1) the fold seat switch assembly is released; 2) another switch (the stowage part of the other fold seat switch assembly or a rear power seat switch) is pressed while the fold seat switch assembly is being pressed; or 3) any of the operation conditions are no longer met.

(d) While the return operation is being performed, check that the return operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously when it is determined that the seatback or seat cushion is pinching a foreign object.
