P0A1C-709 - Drive Motor "B" Control Module

DESCRIPTION

The MG ECU located in the inverter with converter assembly monitors its internal operation and it will set DTCs when it detects malfunctions.





HINT
DTC P0A1A-151 and P0A1C-709 may be stored right after the power switch is turned on (IG) due to the auxiliary battery voltage being low. In this case, inspect the auxiliary battery and recharge it if the battery voltage is less than the standard voltage.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

The MG ECU performs many diagnostic tests to verify proper operation of its internal components. As part of those tests, the MG ECU checks CPU self-test results. If the MG ECU detects "Fail", it will conclude that there is an internal malfunction in that CPU. The hybrid vehicle control ECU will then illuminate the MIL and store a DTC.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN





1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.

3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).

4. Turn the power switch off.

5. Turn the power switch on (READY) and after 1 minute or more, turn the power switch off. [A]

6. Repeat [A] 3 times. [B]

7. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.

8. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes. [C]

9. Check that permanent DTCs are cleared.

10. If the permanent DTCs are not cleared, perform the universal trip, and then check for permanent DTCs again.

HINT
- If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

(d) Read the freeze frame data of DTC P0A1A-151 or P0A1C-709.

(e) Turn the power switch off.
