Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

2GR-FXE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the Techstream on.

(c) Set the vehicle to the "Inspection Mode" Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

(d) Start the engine.

(e) Inspect the oil control valve.

(1) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT System (Bank 1).

(2) Operate the oil control valve using the Techstream, and then check the engine speed.

Standard Condition:





If the result is not as specified, check the oil control valve, wire harness and ECM.

(3) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT System (Bank 2).

(4) Operate the oil control valve using the Techstream, and then check the engine speed.

If the result is not as specified, check the oil control valve, wire harness and ECM.
