Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection

HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSOR: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSOR

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NOTICE:
* Hold the sensor only by its connector. Touching the sensor may change the resistance value.
* When measuring, the sensor temperature must be the same as the ambient temperature.

HINT
As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases (see the graph).

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the room temperature sensor.

2. INSPECT ROOM HUMIDITY SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the room humidity sensor connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

If the voltage is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

(c) Reconnect the room humidity sensor connector.

(d) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(e) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NOTICE:
* Do not touch the room humidity sensor because it may be affected by body temperature and may not work properly.
* Hold the sensor only by its connector.
* The output voltage at the ambient temperature 25°C (77°F) is shown above.

HINT
As the humidity increases, the voltage increases (see the graph).
