Fuel Cut System

PURPOSE
The fuel cut system is used to improve fuel economy and emissions during deceleration.

OPERATION
During deceleration, the ECU inhibits fuel injector operation at 1,800 rpm. When engine speed drops to 1,200 rpm, injection becomes active again.
Fuel injection is also cut if engine speed exceeds 6,000 rpm to protect against over-revving.
