Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Retrieval
Fig. 3 Code Check Terminals:
Fig. 4 Diagnostic Code Chart:
To retrieve trouble codes from the system, connect a jumper wire from terminal Tc and E1 of the total diagnostic check link (TDCL), Fig. 3. Read the number of times the airbag warning light flashes on the dash panel, refer to Fig. 4 for diagnostic codes. When two or more codes are displayed, the lowest number will be first. If code is flashed that is not in the chart, then the center sensor assembly is faulty.
Clearing
To clear all codes except code 41, remove the battery negative cable for at least 10 seconds. To clear code all codes including code 41, connect jumper wire to terminal Tc and another to terminal AB of the TDCL. Turn the ignition on and wait six seconds. Starting with terminal Tc, apply body ground alternately to terminal Tc and AB twice each in one second intervals. Finally, keep applying body ground to terminal Tc. After several seconds the airbag warning light will begin to flash quickly, codes are then cleared.
