Title SEAT BELT EXTENDER (REVISED)


A special application procedure is now available for acquiring a seat belt extender for those customers who require them. Customers can now order seat belt extenders at no cost through their local Lexus dealer.

The extender is available in black only and in lengths of 6", 9", 12", 15" and 18".

Customers will be required to visit a Lexus Dealership for the required measurements and to complete an application form. The application form will be forwarded to the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department who will order the seat belt extender (See page 6). Additional application forms are available through the Lexus Area Offices.

The appropriate seat belt extender will be shipped to the Lexus Dealer's Parts Department at no charge. The Service Department at the Lexus dealer should complete the affixed Seat Belt Extender Label with the appropriate customer and vehicle information. The proper use of the seat belt extender (described in the accompanying instruction sheet) should be reviewed with the customer by the dealer.

^ The application must be filled out completely in order for the Lexus Customer Satisfaction
Department to process and insure timely delivery of the extender.


(1) Owner makes request to dealer for a belt extender.

(2) Dealer verifies the condition and provides "Application for Seatbelt Extender". Dealer sends completed application form to Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department.
^ Dealer retains copies 3 & 4 to process delivery to owner.

(3) Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department records receipt of the application form, copies 1 & 2.
^ Retains files in computer and microfilm.
^ Triggers Lexus Parts Department to ship parts to dealer.





(4) Dealer advises owner to bring vehicle into the dealer for initial installation and formal instructions on the use and maintenance of the belt extender. Dealer completes the CAUTION label on the seat belt extender after the use and maintenance instructions have been described to the customer.





To determine the proper part number, locate the "series" on the following charts. Then refer to the part number chart to find the appropriate part number for the "series" and length.
