To reduce floor vibration at 1700 RPM, the No. 1 and No. 2 exhaust pipe support brackets have been combined into one unit as shown in the illustration below.

Parts are interchangeable as a set only.




REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove and discard original Exhaust Pipe Support Brackets No. 1 and No. 2.

2. Install the modified Exhaust Pipe Support Bracket Sub-assembly.

a. Hand-tighten the four new bolts which attach the bracket to the transmission through rubber bushings.

b. Align the bracket to the catalytic converters and install the two bolts.
c. Torque the four bolts with rubber bushings (bracket-totransmission) to 32 ft.lbs. (400 kg. cm., 43 N-m).

NOTE: All bolt holes should be in alignment. If they are not, the bracket may be placed in a bind, and the vibration may not be eliminated.
