Fuel Gauge Removal
Place a protective covering on the work bench when disassembling the combination meter and removing the fuel gauge. Care must be taken to avoid scratching the combination meter glass, also avoid touching the Character Plate Face during the replacement of the Fuel Gauge.1. Remove Meter Plate with Meter Glass (Figure 6).
a) Remove two screws.
b) Carefully push down the seven locking lugs to release and remove the Meter Plate with the Meter Glass from the Meter Case.
2. Remove the back cover (Figure 7).
a) Remove seven screws.
3. Remove Combination Meter Character Plate (Figure 8).
a) Remove sixteen screws
b) Gently remove the Combination Meter Character Plate from the Meter Case.
NOTE:
Do not bend, damage or mutilate the two Tachometer and/or two Speedometer electrical jumper pins when removing the Combination Meter Character Plate from the Meter Case.
4. Fuel Gauge removal (Figure 9).
a) Remove the Fuel Gauge by sliding it away from the Character Plate.
5. Fuel Gauge installation (Figure 10).
a) Do not to disturb the position of the replacement Fuel Gauge Needle during the removal from the packaging and the installation.
b) Slide the fuel gauge into position.
6. Reassembly of the Combination Meter
a) Follow steps 1 - 3 in reverse order.
