Note: A "New Belt" refers to a belt which has been on a running engine less than 5 minutes. A "Used Belt" refers to a belt which has been on a running engine for more than 5 minutes. After installing the drive belt, ensure it fits properly in the ribbed grooves.


Refer to Fig. 49 for belt routing diagram. For belt tension, check that belt rides within the A area of the belt tensioner that is on vehicle, Fig. 50. If belt does fall within the A area, replace belt. The new belt should ride within the B area.
