Fluid Drain & Refill

Change fluid and filter every 24 months or 15,000 miles.

1. Remove drain plug and drain fluid, then replace plug.
2. With engine Off, add new fluid through filler tube. Use fluid type T-IV (TSB - T003-99 5/21/99). Drain and refill capacity is 1.7 qts on SC 300 and 2.0 qts on SC 400 and LS 400. Dry fill capacity is 7.6 qts on SC 300 and 8.8 qts on SC 400 and LS 400.
3. Start engine and depress brake pedal, then shift into all positions returning to the P position. With the engine idling, check fluid level and add fluid up to dipstick Cool level.
4. After running engine, or fluid temperature is between 158-176°F, check fluid again and add as necessary.

Note: Type T-II fluid is obsolete, it has been replaced by T-IV fluid (TSB - T003-99 5/21/99)
