Wiper Motor
Fig. 18 Wiper Motor Connector Terminal Identification:
Refer to Fig. 18 when testing wiper motor.
1. Inspect motor low speed operation as follows:
a. Connect positive lead from battery to terminal 3 and negative lead to terminal 1. Ensure motor operates at low speed. If not, replace motor.
2. Inspect motor high speed operation as follows:
a. Connect positive from battery to terminal 2 and negative lead to terminal 1. Ensure motor operates at high speed. If not, replace motor.
3. Inspect stopping at stop position as follows:
a. Operate motor at low speed and stop motor by disconnecting terminal 3. Stop at any position except park position.
b. Connect jumper between terminals 3 and 4. Connect battery positive to terminal 5 and negative to terminal 1.
c. Ensure motor goes to park position. If not, replace motor.
4. Inspect wiring to motor as follows:
Fig. 19 Wiper Motor Circuit Test Chart:
a. Disconnect wiper motor connector.
b. Test terminals at wiper connector as shown in Fig. 19. If performance is not as specified, inspect all other parts of wiper circuit.
