Removal and Installation
Fig. 20 Differential Carrier Component Removal:
Refer to Fig. 20 for component location, when performing the following procedure.
1. Remove propeller shaft, then drain differential oil.
2. Place alignment marks on driveshafts and differential, then using axle bolt removal tool No. 09043-38100 or equivalent, remove driveshafts from differential and support with wire.
3. Support differential with jack, then remove three mounting cushion bolts from rear of differential.
4. Remove two side mounts and differential.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque side support bolts to 90 ft. lbs.
b. Torque rear support bolts to 105 ft. lbs.
c. Torque driveshafts to 61 ft. lbs.
d. Fill differential with suitable lubricant.
