Radiator Cooling Fan: Testing and Inspection
1. Standard amperage is 6.0-7.4A. With coolant temperature below 88°C (190°F), turn ignition On and ensure fan stops. If not, check the following:a. Fan relay.
b. Temperature switch.
c. Bad connection or open between fan relay and temperature switch.
2. Disconnect temperature switch connector, ensure fan rotates. If not, check the following:
a. Fan main relay.
b. Cooling fan relay.
c. Ignition relay and fuse.
d. Check for short between fan relay and temperature switch.
3. Connect temperature switch connector.
4. Raise coolant temperature above 99°C (207°F). Ensure fan rotates. If not, replace temperature switch.
