Oxygen Sensor: Testing and Inspection
1. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSORS.
(BANK 1, 2 SENSOR 1)
- Disconnect the oxygen sensor connectors.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals +B and HT.
Resistance: At 20°C (68°F): 11 - 16 Ohms
- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
Torque: 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm. 33 ft.lb.)
- Reconnect the oxygen sensor connectors.
2. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR.
(BANK 1 SENSOR 2)
- Remove the transmission shift lever knob.
- Remove the cup holder.
- Remove the upper rear console panel.
- Remove the upper console panel.
- Remove the radio.
- Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals +B and HT.
Resistance: At 20°C (68°F): 11 - 16 Ohms
- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lb.)
- Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector.
- Reinstall the radio.
- Reinstall the upper console panel.
- Reinstall the upper rear console panel.
- Reinstall the cup holder.
- Reinstall the transmission shift lever knob.
