Description
The starter is a reduction type starter with a small, high-speed motor used to drive the pinion gear. Refer to Fig. 1. On SC 400 and LS 400 models, it is installed in the center of the V bank of the cylinder block.

Operation
With the ignition in the Start position, current is allowed from terminal 50 to the coil of the solenoid and the plunger is pulled by the force of the coil. When the plunger is pulled to the left as shown in Fig. 2, the contact plate of the plunger allows current to flow from terminal 30 to the motor and the starter rotates.
