Rear Door: Adjustments

1. REAR DOOR ADJUSTMENT






HINT: Since the centering bolt is used as the door side hinge bolt, the door hinge cannot be adjusted with it on. Substitute a bolt with a washer for the centering bolt.




a. Adjust the rear door in forward/rearward and vertical directions.
1. Remove the lower center pillar garnish.
2. Loosen the body side hinge nuts to adjust.
3. Tighten the loosened nuts again.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)

4. Install the lower center pillar garnish.




b. Adjust the rear door in left/right and vertical directions.
1. Loosen the door side hinge bolts to adjust.
2. Tighten the loosened nuts again.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)

c. Adjust the rear door lock striker.

2. ADJUST REAR DOOR GLASS




a. Adjust the upper part of glass to the inside/outside.
1. Remove the bolt of lower plate.
2. Pull the lower plate so that the snap is unlocked.
3. Remove the snap and lower plate.
4. Adjust the glass by turning the setting nut.
5. Reinstall the lower plate, snap and bolt.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)




6. In case the glass does not fit the rear window guide:
- Loosen the nut of the rear window guide.
- Using a screwdriver, adjust the rear window guide in in/out direction by turning the stud bolt.




b. Adjust the lower part of the glass to the inside/outside.
1. Loosen the nut of rear window guide.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

2. Using a shim, adjust the glass in in/out direction.

Shim thickness:
1.0 mm (0.039 in.)
2.0 mm (0.079 in.)




c. Adjust the glass in position (forward/rearward) and attitude.
Loosen the 3 nuts of the carrier plate and adjust.




d. Adjust the glass in position (vertical) and attitude (when glass fully closed).
Adjust the door window upper stops.

Torque: 14 N.m (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
