Inspect/Adjust
    Valve Clearance
      Adjust only if noisy.
Check
    Vehicle
      While driving the vehicle, check the proper operation of the engine, transmission, brakes and steering. Check for abnormal noises or vibrations from any part of the vehicle. General body check.
Inspect
    Steering Gear
      Inspect rack and pinion assembly for leakage.
    Steering
      Inspect linkages for damage and wear, check gearbox/rack assembly for leakage and damage at mileage interval or every 18 months, whichever comes first.
    Paint
      Check body for rust and check paint condition. Inspect body for corrosion and paint condition.
    Fuel Supply Line
      Check for leaks and cracking. Retighten clamps if needed. Inspect vapor vent system hoses, fuel tank band.
    Fuel Filler Cap
      Check gasket for proper sealing. Check tank filler neck for damage.
    Fluid - Differential
      Check fluid level and condition.
    Fluid - A/T
      Check fluid level and condition.
    Exhaust System
      Inspect pipes and mountings.
    Evaporative Emission Control Canister
      Applicable only to California, Massachusetts and New York. Inspect at 60,000 miles or 72 months. Check for open ports. Test for excessive fuel vapor storage.
    Drive Belt
      Check for wear, cracking or fluid contamination.
    Constant Velocity Joint Boot
      Check boots for leaks and damage. Retorque flange bolts.
    Brakes and Traction Control
      Inspect the vehicles brake linings and discs/drums. Check parking brake operation and brake pedal free-play.
    Brake Hose/Line
      Check for kinks, damage, corrosion and leakage. Check hoses for leakage, damage and swelling.
    Ball Joint
      Inspect ball joints for looseness or damage. Dust covers for deterioration or damage.
Replace
    Spark Plug
      Maintenance service is required under the terms of the Emission Control Warranty. Replace with correct type and gap.
    Oil Filter, Engine
      Replace every 6 months or 7500 miles.
    Engine Oil
      Replace every 6 months or 7500 miles.
    Coolant
      Flush system and replace with correct mixture of anti-freeze/coolant and distilled or demineralized water. Check specific gravity for freezing point.
    Brake Fluid
      Flush and bleed system. Check for leaks.
    Air Filter Element
      Extremely dusty conditions may require more frequent service of this component.
Rotate
    Tires
      Inspect for damage, proper inflation and uneven wear. Perform at mileage interval or every 6 months, whichever comes first.
