HINT: Screw sizes in the image are indicated using the code for removal and installation of instrument panel.

INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL
1. TILT DOWN AND PULL OUT STEERING WHEEL
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT.
3. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
(a) Front pillar garnishes
(b) Steering wheel
4. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER.
Remove the 4 screws and covers.
5. REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
6. REMOVE UNDER NO.1 COVER
(a) Remove the 3 screws and cover.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts with the connector.
(c) Disconnect the connector.
7. REMOVE FINISH PLATE
8. REMOVE END PAD
Using a screwdriver, remove the pad.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
9. REMOVE OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR SWITCH
(a) Using a screwdriver. remove the switch.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
10. REMOVE LOWER PAD
(a) Remove the 2 screws and hood lock release lever.
(b) Remove the 5 bolts and screw.
(c) Using a screwdriver, remove the pad.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
11. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.2
Remove the screw and duct.
12. REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH
(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Remove the 4 screws and switch.
13. REMOVE COMBINATION METER
(a) Remove the 4 screws.
(b) Remove the meter, then disconnect the connectors.
14. REMOVE UNDER PANEL NO.2
Using a screwdriver, remove the pad.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
15. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR
(a) Remove the glove compartment door finish plate inside the glove compartment.
Caution: When disconnecting the airbag connector take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(b) Pull up the connector.
(c) Disconnect the airbag connector.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts and 3 screws.
(e) Using a screwdriver, remove the door.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(f) Disconnect the connectors.
16. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Remove the 7 bolts and airbag assembly.
17. REMOVE REGISTER NO.3
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the register. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
18. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the register. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
19. REMOVE RADIO WITH A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY
Remove the 5 bolts and radio, then disconnect the connectors.
20. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB
(a) Slide the shaft collar downward.
(b) Remove the 2 screws and knob.
21. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL
(a) Using a screwdriver, pry out the rear side of the panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
(c) Pull the panel backward to remove it.
22. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the register.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connector.
23. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX
(a) Remove the console box carpet.
(b) Remove the 2 screws.
(c) Using a screwdriver, remove the rear console lower box.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts, 3 screws and console box.
24. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET
(a) Using a clip remover, remove the clips.
(b) Disconnect the floor carpet.
(c) Remove the 2 screws and bracket No. 1 from the duct.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket No.3.
25. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Remove the 3 screws and duct.
(b) Remove the screw and duct No. 1.
26. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the nozzle No.1.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the nozzle No.2. (Nozzle No.2 shown)
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
27. REMOVE AIR HEATER GUIDE
(a) Insert a screwdriver into the clip at the top of the guide. Then while pressing down the clip to release it from the latch, pull the guide toward you.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) The grasp the top of the guide and pull it toward you to remove the guide.
28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL
(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Disconnect the hose.
(c) Remove the nut and antenna cable bracket.
(d) Remove the bolt and bond cable.
(e) Remove the 9 bolts, the nut and 2 screws.
(f) Pull the instrument panel rearward and remove it.
29. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.3
Remove the bolt and duct.
30. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 nuts.
Torque: 25 N.m (250 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)
(b) Disconnect the spring from the brake pedal.
(c) Remove the bolt from the engine room.
(d) Pull the steering column to remove it.
31. REMOVE LOWER MOUNTING BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket No.1.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket No.2.
32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE
(a) Remove the bolt, the 2 nuts and brace No. 1.
(b) Remove the bolt. the nut and brace No.2.
33. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT
(a) Remove the 2 nuts and mounting bracket No.1.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and J/B No.1.
(c) Remove the 6 bolts and 4 nuts.
(d) Pull the reinforcement rearward to remove it.
INSTRUMENT PANEL INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
