Parking Brake System: Testing and Inspection

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION





1. Check parking brake pedal travel.
Depress the parking brake pedal all the way and count the number of clicks.
Parking brake lever travel at 294 N (66.1 lbs.): 7 - 9 clicks





2. If necessary, adjust parking brake.
a. Adjust the parking brake shoe clearance.
b. Remove the lock nut.
c. Using the socket wrench, tighten the adjusting nut until it turns freely.
