Introduction

The software logic has been improved to prevent Nakamichi radios from intermittently becoming inoperative in CD mode on 1998 GS 300/400 and ES 300 models. During malfunctioning, typically the CD stops playing and the CD counter freezes. However normal operation resumes after the ignition key switch is cycled.

Parts Information

Repair Procedure

Exchange the radio through Nakamichi's exchange system.

^ Nakamichi started countermeasures to exchange radios in May 1998.

^ Promptly return malfunctioning radios to Nakamichi.





Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
