Introduction

To improve customer satisfaction by reducing wind noise on 1998 GS 400/300 vehicles, TMC has developed the following field-fix repair procedures.

Affected Vehicles

For Outside Mirrors -

For "A" Pillar Area -

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty:

This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's complaint.

Repair Procedure

To eliminate possible turbulence noise around the outside mirrors, add EPT sealer (W: 10 mm, L: 130, T: 5 mm) between the mirror base and door shell.





To eliminate possible wind whistle noise caused by clearance between the "A" Pillar and the Side Drip Rail Molding, add EPT sealer (W: 8 mm, L: 150 mm, T: 8 mm) to the inside of the molding as shown.
