Introduction
To reduce the possibility of a rattle from the glove box, the following repair procedure has been developed.

^ 1998 through 2000 model year GS 400/300.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

Refer to the 2000 MY GS 400/300 Repair Manual, Volume 2, page BO-88.





1. Remove the glove compartment panel assembly from the dash panel.

a. Remove No.2 under the cover to gain access to the 10 mm bolts.

b. Remove the two 10 mm bolts from the bottom of the glove compartment panel assembly.

C. Remove the three screws at the front of the glove compartment panel assembly.

d. Carefully pull the glove compartment panel assembly away from the dash panel at the two clips along the top of the glove compartment.

2. Add felt along the edge of the glove compartment panel assembly that contacts the dash pad as indicated.

3. Reassemble the glove compartment panel assembly.

NOTE:
Be sure that felt is not visible when the glove box assembly is reinstalled.
