Procedure
A. Before starting the programming procedures, make sure to Set-Up the vehicle as follows:1. Remove the key from the ignition.
2. Close and lock all doors.
3. Manually unlock and open the driver's door only.
B. Use the following procedures to add, rewrite, confirm, or prohibit key codes:
1. Add Mode: Adding a Key
This procedure is used to register additional key code(s) while retaining previously registered key codes. The system is designed to retain only four key codes so registering he fifth key code will result in erasure of the first registered key code.
a. Insert the key into the ignition and then remove it.
b. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
c. Close and open the driver's door.
d. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
e. Insert the key into the ignition and cycle the key from LOCK to ON to LOCK. Remove the key.
Response
The power door locks will automatically cycle from UNLOCK to LOCK to UNLOCK confirming Add mode.
f. Press the key's lock and unlock switches simultaneously then release.
g. Press either the key's lock or unlock switch momentarily.
Response:
The power door locks will automatically cycle from UNLOCK to LOCK indicating the following:
^ Once to indicate that the registration was successful.
^ Twice to indicate that the registration was unsuccessful.
h. Additional key codes can be registered by repeating steps f and g.
2. Rewrite Mode: Clearing the Memory and Adding a Key
This procedure is used to clear all previously registered key codes and then, to register a new key code(s).
a. Insert the key into the ignition and then remove it.
b. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
c. Close then open the driver's door.
d. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
e. Insert the key into the ignition and cycle the key twice from LOCK to ON. Remove the key.
Response:
The power door locks will automatically cycle twice from UNLOCK to LOCK confirming Rewrite mode.
f. Press the key's lock and unlock switches simultaneously then release.
g. Press either the key's lock or unlock switch momentarily.
Response:
The power door locks will automatically cycle from UNLOCK to LOCK indicating the following:
^ Once to indicate that the registration was successful.
^ Twice to indicate that the registration was unsuccessful.
h. Additional key codes can be registered by repeating steps f and g.
3. Confirmation Mode: Confirming the Number of Keys Registered This procedure is used to check how many key codes are currently registered.
a. Insert the key into the ignition and then remove it.
b. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
c. Close then open the driver door.
d. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
e. Insert the key into the ignition and cycle the key three times from LOCK to ON. Remove the key.
Response:
The power door locks will cycle from UNLOCK to LOCK, one to four times to indicate the number of key codes registered.
4. Prohibition Mode: Disabling the Wireless Door Lock System
This procedure is used to clear all previously registered key codes and disable the wireless door lock operation. This mode is useful when the customer loses the wireless door lock transmitter keys. The Wireless Door Lock System can be enabled by using the Add Mode to add a key (Procedure A and B step 1: "Add Mode").
a. Insert the key into the ignition and then remove it.
b. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
c. Close then open the driver's door.
d. Press the power door lock switch, LOCK to UNLOCK, five times.
e. Insert the key into the ignition and cycle the key five times from LOCK to ON. Remove the key.
Response:
The power door locks will cycle five times from UNLOCK to LOCK indicating that the Prohibition mode has been selected successfully.
