Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

NOTICE:
^ If the wiring connector of the SRS is disconnect, and the ignition switch is in ON or ACC position, DTCs will be recorded.
^ Never use the airbag parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.




1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT FLOOR ANCHOR

a. Using a screwdriver, remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT

a. Using a screwdriver, remove the 4 seat track covers.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




b. Remove the 4 bolts, then disconnect the airbag connector.

NOTICE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

c. Remove the front seat.

3. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WIRE HARNESS
a. Remove the connector from the bracket.
b. Remove the 5 clamps and wire harness from the seat cushion frame

4. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Power seat switch knobs
b. Front seat cushion shield
c. Front seat inner shield
d. Seat cushion assembly
e. Reclining adjuster inside cover LH
f. Front seatback board
g. Seatback assembly




5. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the clamp.
b. Remove the hook.




c. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 hooks.




d. Remove the 2 nuts and side airbag assembly.

CAUTION:
^ Do not store the side airbag assembly with the airbag deployment side facing down.
^ Never disassemble the side airbag assembly.

INSTALLATION

NOTICE: Never use airbag parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.




1. INSTALL SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

a. Install the 2 nuts and side airbag assembly to the seat- back frame.

Torque: 5.4 Nm. (55 kgf.cm, 48 in. lbf)

NOTICE:
^ Make sure that the side airbag assembly is installed to the specified torque.
^ If the side airbag assembly has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the side airbag assembly with a new one.
^ When installing the side airbag assembly, take care it is not pinched between other parts.




b. Hang the 2 hooks onto the seatback frame, then install the 2 bolts.

CAUTION: Take care to hung the hook securely. Otherwise the seat cover slides, it might cause incorrect deploying.




c. Hang the hook onto the seatback frame.
d. Install the clamp.

2. INSTALL THESE PARTS:
a. Seatback assembly
b. Front seatback board
c. Reclining adjuster inside cover LH
d. Seat cushion assembly
e. Front seat inner shield
f. Front seat cushion shield
g. Power seat switch knobs




3. INSTALL SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WIRE HARNESS
a. Install the wire harness with the 5 clamps to the seat cushion frame.
b. Install the connector to the bracket.

4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT
a. Disconnect the connector, then install the 4 bolts.

Torque: 37 Nm. (375 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

b. Install the 4 seat track covers.




5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT FLOOR ANCHOR
a. Install the front seat outer belt floor anchor.

Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)

b. Install the seat belt anchor cover cap.
