Wiper and Washer Systems: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Wiper arms
b. Weatherstrip
c. Cowl louver
2. REMOVE WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 5 bolts and wiper link assembly.
3. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR
Remove the 2 screws and wiper motor from the wiper link.
4. REMOVE WASHER NOZZLES
a. Remove the hood insulator.
b. Disconnect the washer hoses.
c. Using a screwdriver, remove the washer nozzles.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL WASHER NOZZLE
2. INSTALL WIPER MOTOR
Install the wiper motor with the 2 screws to the wipe link.
3. INSTALL WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the wiper link assembly with the 5 bolts to the body.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connector
4. INSTALL THESE PARTS:
a. Cowl Louver
b. Weatherstrip
5. INSTALL WIPER ARMS
a. Install the wiper arms and tighten the nuts by hand. Operate the wipers once and turn the wiper switch OFF.
b. Adjust the installation positions of the wiper arms to the positions as shown in the illustration.
A: Approx. 29.0 mm (1.142 in.)
B: Approx. 38.5 mm (1.516 in.)
C: Approx. 25.0 mm (0.984 in.)
D: Approx. 17 mm (0.669 in.)
c. Torque the 2 nuts.
Torque: 22 N.m (220 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)
