The Information contained in this TSB updates SS002-97 dated October 31, 1997.

Introduction

The Customize Program Card for the Lexus Diagnostic Tester allows Lexus Dealers to customize many of the electrical functions on LS 400, GS 300/400, and RX 300 vehicles to match individual customer desires. This bulletin will provide you with a comprehensive list of available features for customization.

NOTE:
Customize Program Card 1.0 should be updated to Version 1.1. Contact Vetronix Corporation at 1-800-321-4889 ext. 3195 to reprogram cards to Version 1.1.

Affected Vehicles

^ 1998 model year LS 400 and GS 300/400.
^ 1999 model year LS 400, GS 300/400 and RX 300.

^ Replacement Customize Program Cards can be ordered through the Lexus Special Service Tool Program by calling 1-800-933-8335.

Service Procedure

1. Follow the procedure in the Customize Program Card Operator's Manual (P/N 02002483-005) to set the vehicle functions as desired.

2. When customizing, a detailed description including the "item Selected", the old setting, and the new setting must be entered into the Lexus National Service History as a vehicle note.

EXAMPLE:
If changing the WIRELESS BUZZ VOLUME function from MID2 to MAX enter the following Information into the National Service History Vehicle Notes:





NOTE:
Having these records In the National Service History is very important. If a customer decides that they preferred a previous setting, they may not be able to provide the Dealer with a correct description of the function or its previous setting. The National Service History can be used In conjunction with the customers explanation to verify that the correct function Is being reset.
