Removal and Replacement
REMOVAL1. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISHES
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF INSIDE PLATES
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVERS
4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIMS
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL
6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVERS
Remove the 3 screws and steering column covers.
7. REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 4 screws and combination switch.
8. REMOVE NO.1 LOWER PANEL
a. Remove the 2 screws and hood release lever.
b. Remove the bolt, screw and No.1 lower panel, then disconnect the connectors.
9. REMOVE LOWER LH PANEL
10. REMOVE LOWER FINISH PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the lower finish panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
11. REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
12. REMOVE COMBINATION METER
13. REMOVE NO.2 UNDER COVER
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the lower cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Pull up the connector.
c. Disconnect the passenger airbag connector.
NOTE: When disconnecting the passenger airbag connector take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
d. Remove the No.2 under cover.
14. REMOVE LOWER PANEL
15. REMOVE FINISH UPPER PANEL
16. REMOVE CD CHANGER ASSEMBLY
17. REMOVE LOWER NO.1 FINISH PANEL RETAINER
18. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts from the instrument panel reinforcement.
Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
b. Remove the 4 nuts and front passenger airbag assembly.
CAUTION: Do not store the front passenger airbag assembly with the airbag deployment direction facing down. Never disassemble the front passenger airbag assembly.
NOTE: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
Make sure that the front passenger airbag assembly is installed to the specified torque. When installing the instrument panel, take care that the airbag wire harness does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
19. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the upper console panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
20. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX
a. Remove the box bottom No.2 mat.
b. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 screws and rear console box, then disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the rear cup holder and rear ash receptacle.
21. REMOVE END CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
22. REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the panel, then disconnect the connectors.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
23. REMOVE RADIO AND A/C CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY
24. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE
25. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX
Remove the 4 screws and front console box.
26. REMOVE LH AND RH FLOOR CARPET BRACKETS
27. REMOVE LOWER NO.2 FINISH PANEL RETAINER
28. REMOVE NOZZLE SIDE DEFROSTER NO.1
29. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the nozzle side defroster No.2.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Disconnect the connectors.
c. Remove the bolt.
d. Remove the connector holder.
e. Disconnect the connectors.
f. Remove the bolt.
g. Remove the connector holder.
h. Remove the bolt, nut, screw and safety pad.
30. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT
a. Remove the nut and No.1 finish panel mounting bracket.
b. Remove the 4 nuts and No.1 floor brace.
c. Remove the 2 nuts and No.2 brace.
d. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and junction block.
e. Remove the 3 bolts, 4 nuts and reinforcement.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order to removal.
