Removal and Installation

Side Airbag Assembly:

COMPONENTS

REMOVAL

NOTE:
- lithe wiring connector of the SRS is disconnected and the ignition switch is in ON or ACC position, DTCs will be recorded.
- Never use the airbag parts from another vehicle.When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.




1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT
a. Remove the 2 seat track covers and 4 bolts.
b. Disconnect the side airbag connector.

NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

c. Remove the front seat.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the body.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD
Remove the front seatback board, "A", "B" and "C" in order as shown in the illustration.




4. REMOVE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the hog rings and disengage the hooks.




b. Disengage the 3 clips of the side airbag wire harness from the seat cushion frame.
c. Remove the 4 bolts and seatback assembly.

5. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER (w/PAD)
a. Remove the hog rings.
b. Disengage the seat cover hooks from the seatback frame.
c. Disengage the hook from the seatback frame.
d. Remove the 2 headrest supports.
e. Remove the seatback cover (W/ pad).

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Never use airbag parts from another vehicle.When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.

1. INSTALL SEATBACK COVER (w/ PAD)
a. Install the seatback cover (w/ pad).
b. Install the 2 headrest supports and headrest.




c. Engage the hook onto the seatback frame.

CAUTION: Take care to hung the hook securely.Otherwise the seat cover slides, it might cause incorrect deploying.

d. Engage the 2 seat cover hooks onto the seatback frame.




e. Engage the Seat cover hook onto the seatback frame.
f. Install the new 9 hog rings as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the seatback assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 37 Nm (375 kg.cm, 27 ft.lb)
b. Engage the 3 clips of the side airbag wire harness to the seat cushion frame.
c. Install the hog rings and engage the seat cover hooks.

3. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD
Install front seatback board to the front seat.

4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT
a. Mount the seat to the vehicle.
b. Connect the power seat connector and side airbag connector.
c. Tighten the bolts on the rear side temporarily, starting from the bolt on the inner side tighten them completely.
Torque: 37 Nm (375 kg.cm, 27 ft.lb)
d. Install the bolts on the front side after sliding the seat to the most rear position.
Torque: 37 Nm (375 kg.cm, 27 ft.lb)
e. Install the 2 seat track covers
