HEADLAMP SERVICEABILITY


To improve serviceability on the 1998-2000 GS400/300 and 2001 GS430/300, replacement headlamp retainer brackets have been established as separate service parts. If a headlamp retainer is damaged, the headlamp can be reused by installing the appropriate retainer bracket. Please use the procedures described in this bulletin to repair the affected headlamp retainer.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 1998 - 2000
model year GS400/300 vehicles.
- 2001 model year GS430/300 vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Headlamp Removal







1. Remove front bumper cover.
2. Remove headlamp assembly.
A. Disconnect the connectors.
B. Remove the 3 bolts.
C. Remove the headlamp by pulling it forward, then disconnect the bracket from the vehicle body.







3. Remove the headlamp brackets.
A. Upper side:
Remove the 2 screws and bracket.

B. Lower side:
Remove the 2 nuts and bracket.

4. Install the headlamp brackets.
A. Upper side:
Install the bracket and 2 screws.

B. Lower side:
Install the bracket and 2 nuts.

5. Install the headlamp assembly.
6. Install the front bumper cover.
