Variable Induction System: Testing and Inspection

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
2. CONNECT VACUUM GAUGE
a. Disconnect the throttle body from the intake manifolds.
b. Remove the upper and lower intake manifolds assembly.

c. Using a 3-way connector, connect vacuum gauge to the vacuum hose between the actuator and VSV.
d. Reinstall the upper and lower Intake manifolds assembly.
e. Reinstall the throttle body.

3. START ENGINE

4. INSPECT ACIS OPERATION
a. While the engine is idling, check that the vacuum gauge needle momentarily fluctuates up to approx. 39.9 kPa (300 mmHg, 11.78 in.Hg). (The actuator rod is pulled out.)
b. Rapidly depress the accelerator pedal to fully open position and check that the vacuum gauge needle points to 0 kPa (0 mmHg, 0 in.Hg). (The actuator rod is returned.) If operation is not as specified, check each part.

5. REMOVE VACUUM GAUGE
a. Disconnect the throttle body from the intake manifolds.
b. Remove the upper and lower intake manifolds assembly.
c. Remove the vacuum gauge, and reconnect the vacuum hose to their proper locations.
d. Reinstall the upper and lower Intake manifolds assembly.
e. Reinstall the throttle body.

6. REINSTALL V-BANK COVER
