SECTION: ELECTRICAL BULLETIN #121

MODELS: SPECIFIED TOYOTA/LEXUS

DATE: AUGUST 2002

The wireless door lock remote control system (key linked system) has been designed with a key-fob type transmitter that contains a number of switches. These switches are used to control various components or functions on the vehicle including: the door lock, the back door window, side windows, sunroof and panic feature. Because of these added features, use of the transmitter may cause unintended operation of the window or sunroof (if equipped).

The following models have a variety of these features:

CAUTION:
To prevent unitended up/down-closing/opening of windows and moonroof during service or disassembly (i.e., removing handles, changing door locks, disassembly, ect.) on models with key linked window/moonroof functions, disconnect the power source at the battery. Disconnecting the power at the harness plug may not disable windows and moonroof wire through multiplexing.

Failure to comply with these precautions could result in personal injury or property damage.
