GLOVEBOX RATTLING NOISE
To reduce the possibility of a rattling noise from the glovebox on 1998 ~ 2000 model year GS300/400 vehicles, the following repair procedure has been developed. The change in production is as follows

- Please refer to the 2000 M.Y. GS 400/300 Repair Manual, Volume 2.
1. Remove the glove compartment panel assembly from the dash panel.
a. Remove No. 2 under cover to gain access to 10 mm bolts.
b. Remove the two 10 mm bolts from the bottom of the glove compartment panel assembly.
c. Remove the three screws at the front of the glove compartment panel assembly.
d. Carefully pull the glove compartment panel assembly away from the dash panel at the two clips along the top of the glove compartment.
2. Add felt (5 mm x 150 mm x 0.3 mm) along the edge of the glove compartment panel assembly that contacts the dash pad as indicated.
3. Reassemble glove compartment panel assembly.
