Tail Lamp: Description and Operation

When the light control SW is turned to the TAIL or HEAD position, the signal is input to TERMINAL TAIL of the body ECU. This activates the body ECU to flow the current from the battery into the ALT fuse, taillight control relay (Coil side), TERMINAL TRLY of the body ECU to GROUND, to turn on the taillight control relay. The current flows from the TAIL fuse into the parking lights, front side marker lights, license plate lights, TERMINAL 16 of the light failure sensor to TERMINAL 6 and 7 to taillights, and rear side marker lights, to turn on each light.

TAILLIGHT DISCONNECTION WARNING
If any taillight wiring is faulty when the ignition SW is turned to the ON position with the light control SW set at TAIL or HEAD, the light failure sensor detects a voltage difference and is activated to turn on the rear lights warning light in the combination meter to warn the driver.
