Removal and Installation






REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
2. REMOVE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER AND DISC
a. Place matchmarks on the brake disc and axle hub.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and brake caliper.
Torque: 118 Nm (1,200 kgf-cm, 87 ft. lbs.)
c. Support the brake caliper securely.
d. Remove the 2 screws and disc.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
3. DISCONNECT ABS SPEED SENSOR AND WIRE HARNESS
Remove the 2 bolts, ABS speed sensor and wire harness.

NOTICE: When removing them from the right side, do not disconnect the pad wear indicator connector.

Torque: 7.8 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 69 inch lbs.)





4. CHECK BACKLASH BEARING SHAFT AND AXLE HUB DEVIATION
a. Using a dial indicator near the center of the axle hub and check the backlash in the bearing shaft direction.
Maximum: 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch)
If the backlash exceeds the maximum, replace the bearing.
b. Using a dial indicator, check the deviation at the surface of the axle hub outside the hub bolt.
Maximum: 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch)
If the deviation exceeds the maximum, replace the bearing.
5. DISCONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE FROM BALL JOINT
Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the steering knuckle.
Torque: 113 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.)
6. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE
a. Remove the clip and nut.
Torque: 65 Nm (660 kgf-cm, 48 ft. lbs.)





b. Using SST, disconnect the steering knuckle and remove it from the upper ball joint.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
AFTER INSTALLATION, CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL, AND FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
