Removal and Installation








COMPONENTS


REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT AND CENTER EXHAUST PIPE

Torque: 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.)

2. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT
3. DRAIN HYPOID GEAR OIL
4. DISCONNECT REAR DRIVE SHAFTS

HINT: Support the drive shafts securely.

5. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL
a. Support the differential with a jack.





b. Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 3 bolts.

Torque: 142 Nm (1,450 kgf-cm, 105 ft. lbs.)





c. Remove the 2 bolts and lower mount stoppers.

Torque: 147 Nm (1,500 kgf-cm, 108 ft. lbs.)

d. Remove the differential.





e. Remove the 2 upper mount stoppers from the differential carrier.

HINT:
- Some vehicles have the adjusting shim for adjusting the propeller shaft joint angle installed on top of the upper mount stopper.
- Adjusting shim is used only when necessary.
- At the time of installation, use the upper mount stopper and adjusting shim which was removed.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
AFTER INSTALLATION, FILL DIFFERENTIAL WITH HYPOID GEAR OIL
